I know I have seen information on this somewhere , but searched the internet to no avail. Before glazing, I use a paint brush to spread water around the seam of the handle (pitchers), not mugs, and then glaze.

The bubble appears after glazing, and again, I use the paint brush to push glaze around and pop bubble, yet the damn thing comes back to haunt me in glaze firing, with a nice blister in the middle of the seam of the handle. I realize glaze builds up in the seam, thats why I put water there so it wouldn't have "extra" glaze in that spot.  Question, How to alleviate the problem in the first place.  besides better handle attachments.

After you dip your mug or brush it, blow it quickly with your mouth. I do this often to spread out glazes in random patterns and also to avoid drip spots and thick areas like this.  Also if your glaze is pretty runny there is a good chance it could be building up there from above and then blistering. You could add a hold on the way down to seal over any blisters and pinholes if this keeps happening to you.
