Oh, wow! I love the An Jas w MC Bone. I use MC Iron Red w AJ. Unfortunately, shipping from Minn is very expensive to CA. I have almost all the PC glazes & some I really like & others I'm still working on. Don't have any pics right now. One of the problems I have is glaze thickness. Since I'm a hand-builder I have lots of texture which tends to get obliterated w 4 cts of glaze. I'm trying to find an answer to this problem.

I have Obsidian, Iron & Storm from Amaco that I am going to use with Donna's White as the fourth glaze & put a bunch of the PC glazes over the top of all 4 just to see what they'll do. Amaco's website shows the layers with Obsidian & Iron, but not Storm, but I thought it would be a good one to add. And the Donna's White with rutile was a no-brainer to add to the mix. So the plate will be divided into 4 sections and about a dozen of the PC glazes will be put over all 4.…

There's also a FB page for Potter's Choice glazes where you can see many combos. After seeing many of Amaco's ads, I had to buy a few. I already use Ancient Jasper. I bought it in powder form and mix with brushing medium. I either pour or brush it on and have gotten beautiful results. I love to use it with MC6 Bone either dipped or brushed on rims. Here's an example of AJ brushed on with the top dipped into Bone From MC6. I also recently purchased a few pints, but am hesitant to keep buying…

Here's an example of AJ brushed on with the top dipped into Bone From MC6. I also recently purchased a few pints, but am hesitant to keep buying them, as they are quite spendy and take quite a long time to dry. What I have been doing is some test tiles of various glazes, layered over one another. Some are from MC6, some are commercial. I'm getting ready for a show, but will post some pics when I return home. The second photo has a plate with "Copperhead" from Minnesota Clay, with Bone brushed on rim. I love what Bone does over other glazes. Also, I look at Amaco's PC glaze combos, and look at glazes I already have, then layer them in a similar way. IE, MC6's Variegated Blue looks a lot like PC's Rutile Blue. And Cream Breaking Red that I mix myself looks a lot like Albany slip Brown, so I tested them and love the result. I will post when I have some time.
Don't refire Amaco Seaweed or…tag:cone6pots.ning.com,2014-08-07:2103784:Comment:1104932014-08-07T06:26:54.164ZNorm Stuarthttps://cone6pots.ning.com/profile/NormStuart

Don't refire Amaco Seaweed or slow-cool it after a ^6 firing. The green waves running through the translucent glaze becomes an opaque matte due to crystallization.

Marti Howell said:

I recently tested Potter's Choice Indigo Float over Firebrick on a Standard 112 clay. The results were similar to the same glazing I did on B-Mix 5. Beautiful contrast of colors....2 coats of Firebrick and drizzled indigo float. Took a (bad) photo and posted to my page here. I've learned to "love" the fan brush!

Thank you Mary Kay, for the suggestion to layer Seaweed....I'll try that.

Thanks for the update Brent. I don't think my clay is reacting, I think I just don't like the color!!! Have someone who works at Amaco would be cool to chime in would be cool!! I like that Amaco has a decent website and shows some combos. I wish they had those sheets on alll their colors. I have tried to replicate what they have done without the same results which was frustrating. At that time I was brushing my glazes. I have since started spraying so maybe I should try again.

Stephen Creech is a potter who does work at AMACO. He could certainly chime in here, and show us examples of his own work on his profile page.
