I will make some ornaments this christmas, and need to know which low fire glazes make decent colors, assuming at low fire. I am out of my element here. Don't we have to hang these on special wires to fire them ? Thank you :) cp

I am experimenting with some interesting construction techniques and have been using Amaco high fire white because it can be used on greenware and also bisque fired pieces.

The colors are not very appealing though and I will have to run test tiles of course but was just wondering if anyone has had any luck in layering or otherwise mixing any of these glazes from the High fire group?

Some are in a collection called Sabara Liquid Glazes and another HF Series is called Celebration Liquid Glazes. I just knew them as "High Fire" since their numbers were HF 11, HF 17, etc.
opulence matt base questiontag:cone6pots.ning.com,2014-07-11:2103784:Topic:1085012014-07-11T07:45:04.653ZWyndham Dennisonhttps://cone6pots.ning.com/profile/WyndhamDennison

I have been gifted 25 lb's(dry) of Opulence matt base(cone 6). and am wondering what are some of the amts of coloring oxides/carbonates and opacifiers will look good with this base.

There's no real information on Mid South's web page, though I'll call them later for any info.

For starters, I was thinking of testing some zircopax, about 6-8% and some red iron ox about 2% for a cream, hard to tell from the web pixs if this is a clear base or what.

Ok Newbie time...

I've never mixed my own glazes or anything, I haven't fired anything yet, but I am going to soon.

I bought around 5 different commercial glaze powders. I was just wondering if there is any danger in mixing them together and experimenting?

Here was a surprise; This is Mayco Robin’s egg with ClayScapes Coastal Blue Over. I was not real happy with just using the Robin’s egg, it is a matte glaze, kind of a dull and a glaze that is really not very interesting. By adding a coat if Coastal Blue over a base of the Robin’s Egg, it made for a quite interesting glaze. It gives a very nice blue/grey antique look.
